Shammy arrived on March 17, 2017. He came to Masleña Ranch with his mom Katie. Shammy came from a great friend of ours of which we have known since 1995. She had to find a home for the pair, because the lady who was stabling them in Corrales was selling her horse property. Shammy’s mother Katie is a chocolate palomino that was with our friend Leslie since 1996 when she was just two years old. On February 18, 2001, Katie gave birth to a Perlino colt they named Shammy. Katie struggled giving birth to Shammy, and Jeff was there to help her deliver the baby. Jeff was there and imprinted on Shammy, and it seems it was meant to be that their paths would cross again forever when Katie and Shammy came to Masleña Ranch. They will continue to share a life long trust and bond here at Masleña Sanctuary.
