Katie arrived on March 17, 2017 to Masleña Ranch with her colt Shammy.  She came to us from a dear friend who was looking for a new home for Katie (and Shammy)  because the facility in Corrales, NM where she had them stabled had sold its horse property.  Katie is a chocolate palomino and in February 2001 she gave birth to a perlino colt named Shammy. Katie struggled during a difficult birth and Jeff was there to help her deliver the baby. Jeff imprinted on Shammy and it seems their paths were meant to cross again forever when Katie and Shammy came to live at the ranch. They will continue sharing their special lifelong bond all the days of their lives here at Masleña Sanctuary.
