Copperhead is a beautiful Jersey cow (now a steer) that we got in February of 2021. He was slated to be a veal calf. Veal is the meat from a calf or young beef animal that is raised until about 16 to 18 weeks of age. Male dairy calves are used in the veal industry because male calves are of little or no value to the dairy farmer.  What a sad statistic.  This handsome young man came to us with two others named Spur and Jersey when they were just a couple of months old. We named this fine boy “Copperhead”  because of the beautiful copper coloring on his ears, head and back.
