Anna Bell, nicknamed Belly, was born on the ranch in 2008 and is a Holstein/black baldy cross. She
had a daughter in 2009 named Bandy. Belly is very sweet, but has no interest in getting too close to
people. Belly’s mom was Daisy, one of the first cows on Jeff’s ranch. Daisy developed a severe case
of lump jaw and although intensive medical intervention was provided, she sadly passed away in July
of 2011. (Lump jaw is caused by Actinobacillus bacteria. It occurs in the soft tissues, forming an
abscess, often along the lower jaw.)
